AQ Habitat Regulation Assessment
Seminar flyer including booking form
Course programme
Seminar: Cancelled

This training day will begin by outlining the key drivers which result in a requirement to assess air pollution impacts on designated habitat sites, under the Conservation of Habitats and Species Regulations 2017 Sections 63 and 105. This will be followed by an introduction to the types of pollutants likely to require assessment for various types of development activity (e.g. industrial, residential, agricultural, road transport, as well as strategic development planning). The day will include an overview of recent case law in this area and a discussion of the implications arising from recent judgments. We will provide guidance on the considerations that should be included in undertaking a Habitats Regulations Assessment (HRA) study and provide examples of best practice, with a focus on HRA Stage 1 (screening) and Stage 2 (appropriate assessment).
