This module reviews the impact assessment techniques available and references them to the standards for determination of environmental noise. Concepts such as source, pathway receptor, and propagation evaluation will be reviewed in order to properly reference the use of noise monitoring. Noise monitoring requirements will be reviewed and referenced to the impact assessment standards such as BS4142:2014, BS8233:2014, WHO, CRTN, etc. Case studies will be provided to illustrate the methodologies used and relevance to standards. The course is designed provide delegates with sufficient information to enhance understanding of concepts and terminology for impact assessment. The course will focus on assessment techniques that are used to demonstrate compliance with key legislation such as Statutory Nuisance, Planning, Licensing and Environmental permitting. Delegates will have the opportunity to consider a number of case studies to illustrate key points.
