The purpose of this webinar is to point attendees to the knowledge required to manage the LAQM duties required of a local authority – consequently it will focus on the management rather than technical issues of fulfilling legal requirements, establishing the resource base to comply with those requirements, responsibly assessing the need for action, liaising with stakeholders, ensuring that any action taken is cost effective, and that air quality information is communicated to Defra or the Devolved Administration, and the public in an appropriate manner. The recently published Technical and Policy guidance documents (TG16 & PG16) will be referenced in the seminar. The webinar stands alone but can be also undertaken as the fifth and final module of the EMAQ ‘Essentials of LAQM’ course - a structured programme of training leading to the Certificate in Local Air Quality Management (LAQM) - which is accredited by the Institute of Air Quality Management (IAQM).
